(NSI News Source Info) Singapore Air Show, Singapore - February 3, 2010: Derco Aerospace, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services company, has signed an expanded agreement to distribute and install ASB Avionics’ HF Shunt Antenna upgrades for the C-130, L-100 and P-3 aircraft, and glass cockpit upgrades for the C-130 and L-100 aircraft exclusively in Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand. Sikorsky Aerospace Services is the worldwide aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.Applicable to any C-130, L-100 or P-3 equipped with an HF long wire antenna, the HF Shunt Antenna upgrade is integrated into the aircraft’s dorsal fin, eliminating the need for the long wire and improving the reliability of the HF system. The shunt antenna also improves aircraft aerodynamics, which leads to better fuel economy. The C-130 and L-100 glass cockpit upgrades include Honeywell’s latest state-of-the-art digital auto pilot designed specifically for the L382. This existing and proven design has been granted Federal Aviation Administration STC approval (ST01162LA).
Both the HF Shunt Antenna and avionics upgrades are STC certified by the FAA. The avionics upgrade is also compliant with current Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) mandates. “Derco is thrilled to expand on its relationship with ASB Avionics,” said Erik Argue, Director of Sales and Business Development for Asia. “This expanded partnership with ASB Avionics allows us to continue to provide our customers in Asia and around the world with necessary upgrade options to extend the life of their fleets.” For more information on Derco, call (414) 355-3066 or visit http://www.dercoaerospace.com/.
